Painting with Sound

Client: Sennheiser

In 2019 I was commissioned to create a 5 minute sound experience for Sennheiser’s AMBEO Soundbar. The soundbar delivers 5.1.4 audio from a single point.

The piece was premiered at 2019 Berlin IFA event in a bespoke AMBEO booth. The booth had no screens, allowing the listeners to focus on the sound, with a single strip of LEDs running around the room, emphasising key moments in the piece.

The concept was to transport the audience through a series of immersive soundscapes, building each scene up one sound at a time. After an introduction, the piece travels from the inside of a clock to an expansive landscape featuring sounds from the natural world. Then it moves into a concert hall with a bespoke string quartet composition. Next it travels to an imagined world where a space craft comes under fire from an unknown enemy, before moving back to reality in a bustling train station.

The piece is mixed in dolby Atoms.
